St. Patrick’s Day Outfit + Giveaway

St. Patricks Day Attire - Something Gold, Something Blue style blog - what to wear to work on St. Patrick's DayHappy St. Patrick’s Day! This has always been one of my favorite holidays and my love of it only grew deeper when I was at Notre Dame. We would get up early (like 6AM) to start celebrating the holiday and, as you probably know, college kids getting up before noon is absolutely crazy – but when you are celebrating your school’s heritage, we were up for doing almost anything!!

Since St. Patrick’s Day falls on a weekday this year, I wanted to share an outfit that is work appropriate, but still celebrates the Luck of the Irish (psst….I’m hoping this luck is still good tomorrow and Saturday for ND’s basketball teams)!

I found this dress at a store in SOHO when I was in NYC last June. I loved that it was navy and had the color-block green stripe on the bottom. It turns out that the store was a chain and is the sister store to H&M – no wonder I liked it! And in January, they opened a Houston store in the River Oaks district! I really like COS because they have a wide variety of pieces that can easily go from work to play!

Because I carry my laptop with me wherever I go, I always use a tote bag to carry the essentials. My LV tote was one of my first “big girl” purchases I made after about a year and a half of working – I was so proud of myself for saving up for it and now it has become one of the go-to bags to carry when I need to lug a ton of stuff with me!

To finish off the outfit, I decided to layer two of my more delicate necklaces and pair it with my nude Corso Como pumps (aka. an essential for any woman’s closet – it may not have to be that brand name, but having a comfortable nude pump is an essential. They can go from work to drinks or be worn to a formal event. And they go with everything!)

Also, how cool is this wall?? I discovered it last year when shooting my Easter outfit and have always loved it’s color and that people have written what they would like to do before they die. I have seen a few more of these “Before I Die” walls pop up around Houston and I can’t wait to check them out (and maybe photograph) in front of them!

I’m heading out to the rodeo for a bit of bull riding and FGL! I hope you have a lucky St. Patrick’s Day! And before I leave you to enter the giveaway (scroll to the bottom of the post),  I would like to share one of my favorite Irish blessings with all of you!

May the road rise up to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

The rain fall soft upon your fields,

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
