Hey y’all! What a week it has been – all of the rain in Houston was gloomy, but it also really made me appreciate the gorgeous weather we experienced on Saturday! The sun was shinning and it was a perfect day to be outside! With the summer quickly approaching, I decided to pull out my white and blue striped linen dress – it allowed me to go from shopping with my Mom, to running those pesky errands and even grabbing dinner with some of my oldest friends! I love wearing linen dresses because they are so light and the fabric breathes, so I can be outside without feeling like I took a dip in the pool…I hope I’m not the only one…. 😀 I tried to keep the outfit simple and versatile by wearing my extremely comfortable wedges, a bit of glam with these Kendra Scott earrings and adding a bit of a unique twist with this Kate Spade Snail bag. If I’m being honest, I didn’t carry the snail all day – it really doesn’t hold enough to be an everyday bag, but it is so cute that I love to carry it around whenever I don’t need the extras!
I am currently in Washington, D.C. for work and the weather here is even more gorgeous!! Yesterday after work, I decided I needed to enjoy the gorgeous weather so I walked from my hotel to Georgetown and loved exploring all of the shops and amazing food! This outfit would have been perfect for my evening festivities! I started by doing a bit of shopping – although I didn’t buy anything; my suitcase does not have any more room. But, I loved stopping in the Rent the Runway x Birchbox store! Two of my favorite brands in one store – it could not get any better! And I love the idea that you can grab all of the essentials you may need for that spring wedding or other special event in one place. It definitely takes the stress out of planning and getting ready! Then I grabbed some seafood at Luke’s Lobster. I first has Luke’s when I was working in Philadelphia almost two years ago and I love their seafood rolls (the shrimp rolls may by my favorite, although it’s hard to beat the tradition lobster)! And to add a sweet ending to the night, I stopped at my favorite cupcake shop, Georgetown Cupcakes. I made my first visit to Georgetown Cupcakes after watching DC Cupcakes on TLC, but immediately fell in love with them for their flavor! If you are going there, I definitely recommend the Vanilla Birthday Cake – it is simple yet fabulous!! I could seriously go in about cupcakes about hours….they are my Achilles heel!
