Eye See You

A fun Anthropologie top and some pink accents make for the perfect weekend getup| Something Gold, Something Blue curvy fashion blog by Emily BastedoYou know how there are certain things in life that you just gravitate towards? Well, this top was one of those moments for me. As soon as I saw this top sitting on the sale rack at Anthropologie, I knew that it would be the perfect weekend top. And y’all it does not disappoint! Now I am a bit sad, because it did sell out before I was able to share it with all of you 🙁 Luckily, I have found a few other favorites that I am dying to get my hands on and I have shared them with my other outfit details, below.

This outfit is kind of my summer weekend “uniform” – a great statement top, some jean capris, a comfortable pair of flats and an easy purse. My weekends are all about re-charging from crazy weeks, spending time with friends and family and running those pesky errands to get ready for the next week ahead and being comfortable is so important.

This past weekend was one of those perfect weekends and this outfit is a metaphor for it- it was comfortable yet had pops of color/fun, it was a little bit different than normal, but still exquisite. Now, I didn’t do anything crazy out of the ordinary, but as I have gotten older, I notice myself gravitating towards having a few things planned, but also scheduling/leaving time to relax and re-charge. This weekend seems really busy now that I look back – It started with a Justin Bieber v. Ariana Grande SoulCycle class with my friend, Sarah, making a home-cooked meal and then heading over to my brother’s new house to celebrate with a house warming party with friends I have not seen in almost a year. On Saturday, I attended the Thrive blog workshop to learn more about how to make this blog everything I have dreamed for it and network with other Houston bloggers. And the day ended by trying a new (to me) Thai restaurant with my Mom. Overall, it was one of the best ways I could have thought to spend my free time! What would be your perfect weekend?
