All the Gingham + A Giveaway

Y’all know that I am completely obsessed with gingham and have found any reason to wear it this spring/summer (evidence here, here, here and here). I actually added this blue gingham skirt to my closet last year (well, tbh, most of this outfit has been in my closet for sometime – and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and my wallet thanks me), but I was so excited to see all the gingham on trend this summer and I knew that I would be wearing this skirt numerous times.

Because of the classic a-line style of the skirt (my favorite because it gives the illusion of a smaller waist while giving a great shape by not being skin tight to my hips), this print is totally acceptable to wear to my office on a casual Friday. To keep this look work appropriate, I paired this bold skirt with white v-neck sweater. I love that the v-neck on this sweater is not to low…being smaller chested (compared to my stomach/hips) can make finding v-neck dresses and tops hard to find because they often are too big in that area and then fall too low for me to comfortably wear. This one almost feels like a scoop neck with a “v” instead of a circle. Also, this sweater is so versatile that I easily paired it with a pair of jeans and these mules for a night out with friends.

To top it off, I kept the accessories simple and added a robin’s egg blue mule which complimented the blue gingham print. This look could also easily be worn to brunch or lunch with girlfriends. It’s one of those outfits I know I can always go to in my closet if I need a classic look for a summer chic event/day.
