Finding work clothes isn’t always the easiest, especially when you want to wear the trends while still looking professional for the office. Luckily, there are a few places I can always count on to help me look chic and stylish for my 9-5.

Ever since I can remember, I remember my Mom shopping at Talbots for great classic shaped pieces with modern twists. When I landed my first internship out of high school, the first place my Mom took me to was Talbots to get some work essentials. Ever since that day (almost 10 years ago – where does the time fly), I have been a loyal fan for their tailored, well made clothing which can almost always be worn to the office or on the weekend (y’all know how much I love versatility). And, if it could get any better, they offer almost all of their pieces in petites, straight and plus sizes. #SizeIncusivity at it’s finest!

I am so excited to be partnering today with Talbots to share how I am styling one of fall’s hottest trends for the office – statement sleeves. Whenever I am looking at wearing a trend to the office, I always try to keep the rest of my outfit more on the traditional “business casual” side. So, for this outfit, I paired my statement sleeve top with Talbot’s best-selling straight leg pants in black. Besides being extremely flattering, what I love about these pants is that they can be washed at home (aka. less trips to the dry cleaners required). I’ve also kept my accessories fairly simple with a black, leather tote, menswear watch, nude pumps and white stoned studs. By doing this, I can wear my trendy shirt without any concern for being “too much” at the office.

This top is so comfortable y’all – not only is it extremely chic through it’s classic cut, but it gives me the extra bit of flair through the ruffle on the three-quarter length sleeve. Plus this color screams fall, right? I wore this to the office last week, during our busiest time of the year (when the auditor was in town) and was comfortable and felt like I looked polished for my 13+ hour long days. Overall, this look is perfect for the formal end of the business casual spectrum, but can easily be dressed down with a pair of jeans for a more casual environment.

Have you tried to wear statement sleeves to your office? What are your tips? I would love to hear them in the comments below!
