CLARISONIC CLEANSING BRUSH REVIEW: THE MIA 2

Traveling on a weekly basis can do a number on my skin. Compounded by the fact that I am often stressed, working long days and eating every meal out, my skin doesn’t always have that gorgeous glow. When Her Campus Media offered me the opportunity to test out the Clarisonic Mia 2 device, I immediately jumped at the opportunity because my skin has been looking dull, I’ve been having more breakouts than normal, and I have heard fabulous things from friends and family who have used a Clarisonic cleansing brush.

After using the device for the past few weeks, I am so happy at the results! According to the box, the Clarisonic cleansing device cleanses 6x better than traditional cleansing. I think the brush has something to do with my new healthy glow, but I also think that my new Clarisonic cleansing brush has gotten me excited to take the time to take care of my skin consistently. Slowing down and taking a couple of minutes to really remove all the dirt, grime and makeup that sticks to my skin on a daily basis (especially on days I am flying) has become a new ritual and a time I look forward to everyday. It’s my time to de-stress and start getting into the mindset of unwinding for bedtime.

Since I have received my Clarisonic cleansing brush, I have been trying to follow the same cleaning routine both when I am traveling and when I am home. I usually start my cleansing routine with some micellar water to remove the surface dirt and makeup. Then I use a gentle foaming cleanser with my Clarisonic cleansing brush for 60 seconds to get a deeper cleanse. After 60 seconds, the Clarisonic brush stops spinning and I rinse my face and pat it dry with a towel. I also run the brush under the water and rub my hands over the bristles to remove the cleanser and all of that gross stuff that was on my face. Another new addition to my skincare routine is a Vitamin C serum to help reduce dark spots and dullness. To finish it off, I add a rich moisturizing cream to re-hydrate my skin.

I will admit, I did have some hesitations before I used this cleansing device for the first time. One of my biggest concerns was how it would affect my sensitive skin. My forehead skin often gets irritated with new products and it can become inflamed and red for an extended period of time. When I used the Clarisonic cleansing brush the first time, I didn’t realize it had two speeds, so I used the “normal speed” and was only able to use it on my forehead for a few seconds. After reading my instruction manual (which I should have done to begin with), I learned that there was a sensitive speed. I tried the sensitive speed the next night and what a difference it makes. It was so gently on my forehead, but still strong enough for the deeper pores on my nose and chin. I also learned that they have sensitive brush heads, which I will definitely be investing in for the winter (my forehead skins becomes even more sensitive the cooler the weather is). Overall, I have really enjoyed using my new Clarisonic cleansing device and love that I am excited again to wash my face. And the radiant skin I now have is an added benefit!

I think the Clarisonic Mia 2 would be a great gift for the beauty obsessed for the holidays.

Have you tried a Clarisonic cleansing brush before? What are your thoughts? I would love to hear about it in the comments, below!

Hi Terri, my Clarisonic came with the travel case, but the Clarisonic website also sells cases. Here’s the link to one of the travel cases that would work with my Clarisonic brush: https://rstyle.me/n/c6u3k7b5tsf – I hope this helps!
