These are a few of my favorite things….

When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling sad….Sorry, I just couldn’t resist the Sound of Music reference. I know it will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day. 😀
I was in South Bend, IN this past week at Notre Dame helping with recruiting for work and loved being able to catch up with all of my classmates back on campus for career fair week and with the Seniors still on campus. The weather was pretty nice all week, except for the rain on Wednesday and Thursday but I enjoyed walking around campus as much as possible.

This upcoming week is going to be extremely busy but I am so excited for it!!! First, I am heading to North Carolina to prepare for our big deadline at work next week and I am on vacation Thursday and Friday. Next weekend, I am traveling to Chicago for reunion weekend with some of my best friends who I haven’t seen since our Palm Springs trip in January. I know it is going to be a great time filled with lots of laughs and maybe a drink or two….

1. Football
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love football season – there are so many great things about it. First, my Fightin’ Irish have started the season swinging.  I know it is still early, but I am hoping they can continue this trend! I  am also excited for my Fantasy Football team – I think I did a pretty good job with my draft and it is always fun to have some smack talk at work. Go Irish! Go Texans!

2. University of Notre Dame Campus

I always loved this time of year when I was a student. The leaves are just starting to change colors  and the weather is gorgeous – high 70s during the day and high 50s at night. If only some place would have this weather all year round, I would be there in a heart beat. While I was on campus for recruiting, I took a few mornings and evenings to walk around campus and collect my thoughts. On Wednesday evening, I was able to capture these pictures between the bursts of rain. How beautiful is the dome? And the grotto at night – spectacular!

3. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling
I have been a fan of Mindy Kaling since she joined the cast of the Office and I am obsessed with the Mindy Project.  Mindy, on her show and in real life, seems like an imperfect and down-to-earth person with an impeccable sense of humor. I really wish we could be friends in real life. When Birchbox announced that this book was the choice for their August book club, I was excited to see Mindy had written a book and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. After reading it, my obsession with Mindy was confirmed – she is not afraid to admit her faults (in a humorous way, of course) and provides readers with a view of her childhood. I found myself wanting to turn the pages to see what comedy of errors would occur next. If you get the chance to read this book, I would highly encourage it!

(P.S. Thanks to Birchbox for providing the book via Birchbloggers. And if you haven’t heard, the September Book Club book is Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. If you make a purchase of $50 or more on the Birchbox website, you can get the book for free!)

4. Bucket Bags
I am loving this trend for the fall season!  The bucket bags are functional and fashionable. They are large enough to hold everything I need for the cooler weather (aka. scarfs, lip balm, hand cream). I love that you can “close” them at the top by pulling the bag closed which makes them perfect for traveling. I am waiting on my bag to arrive from Old Navy – it should be here today! I cannot containment my excitement. I am also loving these versions of the bucket bag from Madewell, Urban Outfitters and Prozena Schouler.

5. Raise.com
With the new fall fashions on the market and the need for me to stay on budget, I am loving this website. Raise is a marketplace for gift cards – you can both buy discounted gift cards or sell gift cards that you may not use. One of the major reasons that I am loving Raise is their Raise Promise that they will work with each buyer and seller to resolve any issue that may arise within 60 days of purchase. I have bought a few gift cards on the site – Starbucks, Marshalls and Old Navy- and have not been disappointed. My philosophy is that every penny counts. For example, I save $5 on a Starbucks gift card which equals one grande drink!

6. Exuviance Illumination Duo
I received a sample of this duo a few weeks ago and I am saving up to get my hands on the full-sized products. Although the duo is on the more expensive side, the products have left my skin smoother and brighter. I noticed my dark spots starting to fade a bit more. I haven’t noticed it being greasy or clogging my pores at all. If anything, the products have decreased the amount of breakouts I have had! I am really obsessed with Vitamin C this year for skincare and this product does not disappoint.
I would love to hear what you are loving this week! Let me know below.

FYI – Parts of this post were gifted to me in exchange for this post. Please know, I  will always provide you with my honest opinion of these items and will never recommend a product that I did not 100% love.
