SMASH-ing Jumpsuit

As you read this, I am currently in Belize on a service trip to teach primary school children financial literacy. I am super excited to be going and can’t wait to share some pictures and my experience with all of you when I get back. In the meantime, I will be posting some pictures on Instagram!           _MG_5845

Now to one of my new favorite items in my closet – jumpsuits!! I never thought that I could pull off the jumpsuits but in the past couple of months, I have purchased 4 different ones. I think this black one is one of my favorites because it can be worn to so many different occasions.

The short sleeves and V-neck allows me to dress it down for the day-time, maybe even throw a colored blazer and cami under it for work, or dress it up a bit and wear it to dinner at Uchi on Saturday night with my parents! It was my first time at this acclaimed Houston restaurant and both the food and the service was fantastic. Uchi is known for their small-plates of contemporary Japanese food. I loved everything we tried – if you go, make sure you try the walu walu, I think it was my absolute favorite. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed everything else, but the flavors in this dish were something I have not had before and just scrumptious.

Smash Concert

The first time I wore this little black number was to the Bombshell one-night concert from the TV show, SMASH, during my New York City trip last month. Let me tell you, the concert was fantastic – most of the original cast from the TV show were there to participate in the concert and raise money for the Actor’s Fund and support the arts professionals. And we were lucky enough to have snagged tickets in the second row! It was fantastic to see all of the stars (Katherine McPhee, Megan Hilty, Debra Messing, Christian Borle, Jeremy Jordan, Will Chase, Wesley Taylor and so many other amazing talents) up close singing some of my favorite songs about Marilyn Monroe’s life. The energy in the theater was buzzing with love for the theater and for this unique event.

IMG_3042 IMG_3001The jumpsuit was perfect for this concert – it was fun, extremely comfortable, but look effortless and chic! I still think back about the concert and I am so excited that they recently announced that Bombshell is going to Broadway!! I don’t think they have released all of the details yet, but sign me up! I can’t wait to see the full production!!

  1. Can’t wait to see details on Belize. Sounds like a wonderful trip. Jumpsuits are those funny pieces that are SO comfortable and also so dressy at the same time. It’s one of life’s mysteries that I can totally accept.
