Shopping with nines

Friends! I am beyond excited to share today’s blog post where I’m walking through a new tool on the market that I’ve been fortunate to provide some input on to help make shopping for those pieces we love on the Internet so much easier!

How disappointing is it when you see something online that you absolutely love, but can’t find it or something similar?

I remember there was this pair of gold heels that I swooned over forever and still have not been able to find something similar. It was and still is so disappointing. Luckily, nines is here to save the day (and I am so honored they asked me to help launch the platform)!

nines is a visual shopping experience which shows you both the exact item and similar items I’m wearing along with similar items to give you lots of options and you can always find a piece that will work perfectly for you and you’ll never run out of options because something is sold out again.

My profile on nines where you can see all of the photos I’ve uploaded to the platform and linked items to.

Let’s take a look at one of my favorite workwear posts and how it looks on nines. After navigating to the nines feed or to my personal nines page, you will see all of the photos I’ve uploaded to the platform (I’m continuing to add more photos on a weekly basis, so you’ll always see the latest things I’m posting). If you happen to come across something that you love and want to see more of, click on the shopping bag or the image to see the items linked.

In the screenshot below, you’ll see my workwear outfit that I posted. Then on the right hand side, you can see a lot of the items included on the photo. If you take a look at the pants, you can see the exact pair I’m wearing is the first ones listed, from Eloquii, and they have the black bar at the bottom highlighting that it’s what’s being shown in the photo. Then, next to the Eloquii pants, they have other products from both the same place and other places which give you a very similar look.

From what the developers tell me, they are using visual search algorithms and I’m sure lots of backend code to find the items that closely resemble the items in the photo I shared. How cool is that? When I first saw the similar items featured, I was blown away. I couldn’t believe how much these pieces resembled what was in my closet.

If you happen to like one of the pieces shown, then you can click on that item and it will direct you to the retailer’s website to browse and or purchase just like you normally would.

Another thing I love about nines is that even if the exact item is no longer in stock, it will find similar items which means less of that disappointed feeling of not being able to find that piece that caught your eye while browsing through Pinterest. And to make it even better – there is no app required to access it. You can access this platform by going to nines.style/emilysgsb at any time through any device to access all of the fun shopping!

On a selfish note, I am loving this new platform because I am now going to be able to share pieces that are currently in my closet more. Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping and scouring the sites for pieces that are amazing, but I cannot tell you the amount of clothes that are stuffed into my closet and barely get worn. With nines, I feel like I can bring out the blazer I bought two years ago and it will help me find something similar that is on the market now when sharing with all of you.

Don’t worry, I’ll still be sharing hot of the rack pieces, but I am going to be more conscious of mixing in pieces that I already have for both my personal organization and to limit the amount of fast fashion I have in my closet. I hope y’all are excited to see more ways to mix and match the same piece and love using nines as much as I have!

I’d love to hear your thoughts! What do you think of nines? Do y’all love it as much as I do?
