Discount Glasses Review | Something Gold, Something Blue

I was first told I needed to wear prescription glasses when I was 7 years old. After about a year of wearing them to school, my eyes seemed to have corrected themselves. Or at least we thought so… a few years later, when I was starting my career as a middle schooler, I was starting to have issues seeing in class and was getting headaches. All it took was a quick eye doctor’s visit to confirm that I needed some significant correction to help get me to the coveted 20/20 vision and eliminate my headaches. For about two years, I wore prescription glasses and, for my 13th birthday, I felt like such an adult when my parents gave me a certificate to get contacts.

To this day, I see my eye doctor at least once a year to see if my prescription has changed. I mainly wear my contacts throughout the week, especially when I am shooting blog photos. But, I still wear both my full prescription strength glasses and my computer/reading glasses quite a bit, especially at night when my eyes are tired, on the weekends to chill out or run errands or when I happen to get an eye infection (which unfortunately happens more than I would like it to due to my severe seasonal allergies).

After my eye doctor’s appointment, last year, I walked out of there amazed at how much dough I was shelling out for my eye health every year. From the exam, to contact lenses, to updating my full strength prescription glasses and my computer reading glasses, I was spending over $700. I was flabbergasted! I know I need these things to, you know, see, but that’s a pretty large expense to have every year. After going through this last year, I asked some of my friends about how they save money on their eye health expenses.
