Memorial Day Weekend

Who else is super excited for the 3-day weekend? Memorial Day could not have come at a better time. I definitely need a little R&R and am so excited that there is an extra day to recover from the month of May craziness. I have a few things planned here in Houston, like getting pedicure and high tea with my Mom tomorrow to celebrate her birthday and Mother’s Day, but, ultimately, my weekend is going to be slow paced and spent relaxing and recharging for the next couple of weeks (I have some exciting things planned and I cannot wait to share them with y’all).

The weather here in Houston has been pretty nice. We haven’t hit the super hot and humid, summer weather we typically have this time of year. Since it’s so nice out, I am hoping that I am going to be able to relax outside, finish Ashely Graham’s Memoir, grill some chicken and veggie skewers, drink some rose and kick off the start of summer. Add in a little pool time and it would pretty much sum up my perfect day!

After taking a look in my closet at my apartment, I realized that I did not have anything (ok, well there were a few things, but you know how it goes) that would be perfect for a casual weekend. Luckily, I was able to “closet” this top through my subscription with Gwynnie Bee and it arrived just in time to spend some time outdoors this weekend.

One of my favorite things about this shirt is that I can wear it both on or off the shoulders. For this casual weekend look, I decided to wear it on the shoulders so I didn’t have to worry about pulling or tugging at it, which give me more time to focus on spending time with my family and friends. But, for an afternoon date or brunch, I would totally pair this top with a pair of white capris and some wedges and wear the shirt off the shoulder.
