Getting fall inspired

Gwynnie Bee TopMan, I can’t believe Wednesday was the first day of fall! These past couple of months have been a whirlwind!! I have shuffling back and forth between Charlotte and Houston pretty much every week for the day job and it has been a mental fashion struggle for me. The weather at night and in the morning in the Queen’s City has been crisp fall weather, but in Houston it is still in the 90s. On the weekends, I want to pull out my fall items, because I am still in a Charlotte-weather mentality, so I decided to start wearing summer-to-fall transition items. This outfit was perfect for Tex-Mex and margaritas and I couldn’t resist the bold lip!

I received this top in one of my Gwynnie Bee shipments last year and loved the top so much that I decided to keep it. It has a coating on the front that makes it look like leather, but is cotton and super comfortable. Paired with these distressed boyfriend jeans from the Nordstrom sale provide the perfect little edge. I added my new Cole Haan mules – these have to be the best discount purchase I have made recently. Dillard’s was having a sale on the sale and I found these beauties on the rack. They fit like a glove! Seriously….and they are extremely comfortable because they have a thick heel.

I also found this purse on major clearance at the Nordstrom Rack two weeks ago. I had about an hour before I was meeting up with a friend for dinner. It wasn’t enough time to go home, so I decided to go shopping, of course! I honestly did not think I would find anything there; I haven’t been super impressed with this Nordstrom Rack, but, I was so wrong. I found two purses that I almost had to do einie-mienie-minnie-mo to decide, a couple pair of shoes and a watch. If I had an endless budget, they would have all been mine, but I made the extremely tough decision to walk out only with this amazing bag. I love that it has plenty of room, both a top handle and strap so it can be worn in many ways, and the leather is extremely soft. It may be one of my favorite purchases in a while!

Wow, now that I am writing this post, I am realizing that this is the #dealoutfit – jeans, shoes, purse, even the top!IMG_3041Karen Kane Top via Gwynnie Bee | Kut from the Kloth Jeans | Cole Haan Mules | See by Chloe Purse via Nordstrom Rack | Vince Camuto Earrings (similar) | Gorjana Bracelet| Laura Mercier Lipstick

I am excited to be heading to L.A. on Sunday for a work retreat. I apologize in advance for the amount of Instagrams (EmilySGSB) and/or Snapchats (Emilydbast) I may be sending while I am out there. Since I am making the trek out there, I decided to stay the weekend after. Do you have any suggestions for what I should do??? I’m all ears!

The Austin temps are not reflecting it either girl… I can’t wait for it to cool down so I don’t have to sweat while drinking my PSL!
