Can y’all believe that Easter is only 2.5 weeks away? I know it’s so late this year, but seriously, time has just flown by. Before we know it, it will be the holiday season and it will quickly turn to Easter again. I guess I need to slow down a little bit more and savor the moments because it’s flying by.
Easter has always been a big holiday for me to celebrate – I grew up Catholic and attended Notre Dame for college and have always loved celebrating both the secular and religious sides of the holiday. When I was a child, I absolutely loved searching for Easter eggs and, not to toot my own horn, but I think I was pretty spectacular at finding those expertly hidden eggs (thanks, Dad)! As I searched less and less, I began to understand this spring holiday on such a different level. It became more about spending time with my friends and family, reflecting on all the blessings I have in my life, and finding ways to share love with others.
One tradition that has always been a part of my family’s tradition is going to mass to celebrate the biggest sacrifice I could imagine – giving your life for others. As a child, I remember being so excited to go to the store with my Mom to pick out a beautiful dress (and bonnet) to wear to mass and brunch. The butterflies of going shopping and picking out a new dress for the holiday is still very much with me and I was so excited to get my hands on this gorgeous floral dress from Eliza J!
Not only is the silhouette extremely flattering on almost every body type, but it comes in both straight and plus sizes! And this rich, green, floral print just screams spring. And since I’m still trying to re-mix what’s currently in my closet, this dress can also be worn to any upcoming spring or summer weeding and double as work dress, if I just add a camisole and blazer over top. Since this is a bolder print, I decided to keep the accessories more on the neutral side – sticking with nude pumps, a taupe clutch and gold statement earrings.
However you choose to celebrate Easter, I hope you are able to get your hands on some delicious jelly beans (the Starburst ones are my hands down favorites), wear a gorgeous spring dress and be able to spend time with those you love!
