Category Is: Work From Home Realness

Hey y’all! It sure has been a hot minute since I sat down and wrote on this little blog of mine. TBH, this whole social distancing, WFH, everything closed down state that we are living in has really thrown me for a loop. One day I feel like I’ve conquered my fear + anxiety, and the next day I want to curl up in a ball. The best way for me to describe how I’ve been feeling is it’s been an emotional roller coaster. I know we all are feeling the pressures of all of this differently and my hope is that each of you know that doing your best on any given day is absolutely enough!

One of the things that I have been doing to try and keep things as normal as possible is to try (and I highly emphasize try) and get dressed everyday, especially during the work week. For me, there is something about wearing “real clothes” and changing out of my pajamas every morning that makes me mentally prepared to take on the day. It may be because it feels “normal” and is a routine that has allowed me to take a few minutes to think about what I want to portray that day. I may also be a little extra motivated by the Zoom video calls that I have to do 🙂

These past couple of weeks, I’ve decided to take a mirror selfie everyday to capture my quarantine life. As y’all will notice, my hair is most likely clean but not super styled, I am wearing almost no makeup, if any and I’m often more presentable from the waist up. While I love getting dolled up on the weekend and taking my time to put on makeup, during the weeks – even pre-quarantine, I keep my makeup light.

Let’s take a walk down fashion memory lane….

Work from home plus size

Loft Mock-Neck Pullover Sweater – bought last year (same fabric but sleeveless, spring 2020 favorite) | Lane Bryant Sweatpants (they have no compression so they are super comfy) | Slide on Sneakers (aka. the only shoes I’ve worn during quarantine)

I actually wore this outfit on the weekend to run to the grocery store, but it has been one of my favorite outfits so I decided to include it in this roundup.

DAY WON Star Cropped Top (honestly one of the best workout tops I’ve ever owned and it comes in XS-5X!) | Lane Bryant Purple Leggings – old (similar) | Hat (similar)

Plus size blue and white maxi dress

Size inclusive Maxi Dress | White Camisole

Pink duster perfect for working from home

Long Magenta Duster – c/o (similar) | Black Printed V-Neck Top – c/o | Black Slacks that feel like Sweatpants

Plus size leopard pants

So….disclaimer – on this day, I was so over sweatpants and jeans and decided it was time to pull out a pair of slacks. But, I figured why not pull out the bold leopard print ones that have a silky feel to them?!? Sometimes you’ve got to go bold to break up the days.

Forest Green Tie Belt Top | Leopard Slacks

Plus size Loungewear

Aerie Blue Sweatshirt – last year (similar, new favorite) | LIVI Black Mesh Leggings (non-mesh favorite)
