Casual Friday

CJ Cookie Johnson Skinny Jeans Plus Size

Hey, y’all – it’s Friday! We made it!  I have been in Houston all this week, which has been absolutely fantastic! I was able to meet up with some Houston Blogger Babes on Monday at The Cottage Shop for a preview party for their upcoming event, Shop. Taste. Empower. I have driven by The Cottage Shop probably weekly for the past 3 years, since it is right down the street from my apartment, but never popped my head in. And let me tell you, they have some adorable finds. As a non-profit resale shop, they rely on donations – and you should see what we found: some pink suede DVF smoker shoes, some vintage Lilly Pulitzer and a Bally purse. And what is even better is that all of the proceeds benefit The Women’s Home. If you are able to attend, make sure to check out the Shop.Taste.Empower event on November 15th!

I also was able to catch up with them at a Bumble & Bumble event on Wednesday. We played with some of their new products and heard about their hair modeling program. It seems like it would be awesome to do, but I have a few reservations and would love to hear your experience in the comments! A big thank you goes out to Nicole from Lipstick & Brunch who organized these events! They were fantastic and I was so glad to be in town this week to attend!

The rest of the weeknights were spent packing.  y’all – I didn’t realize how much stuff I have accumulated over the past three years….my goodness, this was definitely a reality check for me! I am going to keep this post short and sweet (I still have lots of things to pack…if I’m being honest, it’s mainly clothes and shoes). I have worn this outfit numerous times over the past couple of weeks and it was perfect to run errands in earlier this week. Comfortable and functional. Besides the adorable print on the shirt, my favorite part of the outfit is the cozy, over-sized cardigan. It is such a comfortable sweater that I will probably wear it out this season! And the best part is that both of these pieces cost less than $60! Paired with my favorite skinny jeans, roomy purse and flats (hopefully, I can break out my boots soon – it just been too warm here in Houston), it is the perfect casual outfit to run around town in! What is your go-to errand style?
