Timing is Everything in College Football + Giveaway

A big thank you to JORD Wood Watches for providing this watch for me to experienceΒ  in exchange for a review. All opinions are 100% my own and I would not recommend a product I did not fully support!

College football is a big aspect of my life! My Saturdays start by watching College Gameday on ESPN and then having some games on before my Irish play (usually at 2:30 in Houston). I love college football!! The rivalries, the unexpected outcomes, the weekly rankings, all of it. If I am being honest, I was not the biggest football fan before I went to college. I would go to a few high school games for homecoming or when my friends wanted to go, but that was more of a social outing and I doubt I watched much of the game. This all changed when I attended my first Notre Dame football game eight years ago! I loved the energy and magic of campus around game day! I loved celebrating touchdowns by doing pushups with my classmates (if you haven’t seen this tradition, check it out here). I love screaming until I am hoarse and hopelessly believing that this will be the year….I even decided to be a sports manager my sophomore year and had the opportunity to work the sidelines of a few games, attend practice and paint the helmets to match the Golden Dome. As you are reading this, I am in Chicago and will be heading to South Bend tonight to see Notre Dame take one of our largest rivals, USC. I could not be more excited to be going back to campus with some of my best friends to experience a great game under the lights!!!

JORD Wood Watch

Being on time for kick-off is extremely important to catch the band playing our fight song and to catch a glimpse of the Armed Forces jets flying above. So, today, I have teamed up with JORD Watch to share my favorite Notre Dame game day looks. I think this look is a perfect for a game watch at the bars or to show support to my favorite team if it’s jersey day! First and foremost, I love to show my ND pride by wearing a T-Shirt with the monogram on it. I found this one at the Notre Dame bookstore when I was on campus for the University of Texas game. I love the green tint and it is super soft. I paired it with my navy Eloquii skirt to dress it up, this adorable Kate Spade headband for some glamour and my trusty custom Notre Dame painted TOMS which I found on Etsy. I have had these spirited TOMS for three seasons now and they still put a smile on my face when I pull them out of the dust bag. They are super comfortable, which is perfect for game day! And it doesn’t hurt that the original purchase of the shoes allows TOMS to donate a pair of shoes to someone who needs them!

But, what makes this look stand out is the JORD Watch!! When I saw the turquoise face, I knew it was going to be perfect with my blue and gold Notre Dame attire and it sure did not disappoint. The watch is hand-crafted and is made of natural wood (with a bit of oils to finish it), which makes my watch truly one of a kind. The Cora style I chose is made with Zebrawood, which is even more stunning in person – the pictures don’t really do it complete justice. From the pictures on the JORD website, I was expecting a lighter shade of the wood, but mine turned out to be a bit darker due to the grain of my Zebrawood, which I love even more; the dark gran adds a neat dimension to the watch and I think it will continue to translate well into the fall and winter. Another reason I love this watch is because of the beautiful Swarovski crystal markers which add even more glam (I mean, who doesn’t love crystals??). The watch has a buckle clasp (similar to most watches I have seen) and it has the self-winding automatic feature. I love that this watch does not require a battery and is self sufficient. It is inevitable that the other watches I own will always seem to die right when I need them. It’s not pictured in this post, but the watch arrived in a beautiful wood box, which can be used to hold your watch when it is not in use and makes for a great gift (cough….cough…the holidays are fast approaching). But, seriously, I could not have been happier with this watch and am so glad to have discovered a sustainable and quality watch that is perfect for a football game or to wear to dinner!!! I’m sure this is not the last you will see of this watch on SGSB!
