A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending a Girl’s Night Out organized by the wonderful, Bree from The Thing About Joy at Well Polished & The Wellness Centre. A spa day (ok, evening) was just what I needed coming home from my fabulous trip to New York City!!!
Throughout the night, we sipped on some wine, had some delicious bundt cakes from one of my personal favorite places, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and enjoyed beautiful flowers and our handy spa passport to guide us through our serenity journey provided by Agave Brothers.
It was so great to catch up with some of my blogger friends and to meet some new ones! Over the past few months, I have been so fortunate to have found this great group of women who support my passions and it is great when we can get together!! Make sure to stop by and say hello to some of my fabulous blogging friends (from top): Bree, Michelle, Vashti.
One of my favorite services that I tried that night was a foot massage (perfect for my terrible feet…)! I wish I could have this service every evening – my feet felt better for days afterwards. The masseuse used hot stones and her hands to help me relax and get the tension out of my sore footsies! I had a shoulder and neck massage right after my foot service and it really was the perfect relaxation combination.
I also tried acupuncture, which my family still can’t believe. I have been deathly afraid of needles since I was a kid. Seriously, I was the teenager who flipped out when I had to receive a shot or have my blood taken. I have gotten much better about needles since getting my wisdom teeth out, but it is still not my favorite thing. I decided that if I was ever going to try acupuncture, I should do it in front of my blogger friends, so I wouldn’t chicken out. The therapist was extremely knowledgeable and explained to us the difference between acupuncture, cupping, scraping and a few other wellness methods. I couldn’t really feel the needles except for one, but they all made me feel really relaxed and my lower back instantly felt better. I don’t know that I will regularly do acupuncture, but I will definitely now consider it because of this experience.
Another first for me was receiving a chiropractic adjustment. My mom and brother swear by them, but I have never taken the time to have one done and, honestly, it scared me a bit. Dr. Scott was great! He explained everything he was about to do and why it was important. I walked out of my adjustment feeling like I was floating on clouds and my shoulder (which I injured when I was 10) has been less painful for the past few weeks. Even now, I can tell that traveling and sleeping on hotel pillows has put me a bit out of the perfect alignment I had the days following. I can’t wait for my next adjustment – I can see why people say they love it. The Wellness Centre was fantastic and all of the staff that I met were extremely knowledgeable and friendly!
Over at Well Polished, the beauty bar, there were a lot of amazing services, as well. They offer manicures, pedicures, waxing and facials! What I loved the most was that they try to use earth friendly and natural products. I really appreciate that they are trying to protect the environment and our well-being while still being stylish! And I just love how fresh fruit and essential oils smell! During the spa night, I had a hand massage and I cannot even begin to explain how much I loved the lotion that they used!! They even gave us a little sample of it for us to take home and I cannot wait to re-order it and to go back for a mani/pedi with these products!
A tremendous thank you to The Wellness Centre and Well Polished for opening your doors to us and for graciously providing us with a super relaxing and fun night! I can’t wait to come back and try another (or two, or three, or four) services!
And, of course, a big thank you to Nicki Evans for taking these amazing photos to commemorate our relaxing night!
