I was compensated by DiscountGlasses.com to share my experience using their website to purchase a pair of prescription glasses. All opinions are my own. I was first told I needed to wear prescription glasses when I was 7 years old. After about a year of wearing them to school, my eyes seemed to have corrected themselves. Or at least we thought so… a few years later, when I was starting my career as a middle schooler, I was starting to have issues seeing in class and was getting headaches. All it took was a quick eye doctor’s visit to confirm that I needed some significant correction to help get me to the coveted 20/20 vision and eliminate my headaches. For about two years, I wore prescription glasses and, for my 13th birthday, I felt like such an adult when my parents gave me a certificate to get contacts.
To this day, I see my eye doctor at least once a year to see if my prescription has changed. I mainly wear my contacts throughout the week, especially when I am shooting blog photos. But, I still wear both my full prescription strength glasses and my computer/reading glasses quite a bit, especially at night when my eyes are tired, on the weekends to chill out or run errands or when I happen to get an eye infection (which unfortunately happens more than I would like it to due to my severe seasonal allergies).
After my eye doctor’s appointment, last year, I walked out of there amazed at how much dough I was shelling out for my eye health every year. From the exam, to contact lenses, to updating my full strength prescription glasses and my computer reading glasses, I was spending over $700. I was flabbergasted! I know I need these things to, you know, see, but that’s a pretty large expense to have every year. After going through this last year, I asked some of my friends about how they save money on their eye health expenses. One of them mentioned using Discount Glasses to help them get an additional pair of eye glasses they needed and how affordable they were.
So this year, when I had the opportunity to partner with Discount Glasses to pick out a pair of prescription glasses and share them with all of you, I immediately jumped at the chance. When I was first started this process, I was a little concerned about picking out a pair of glasses that compliment my face shape and my personality. I have always been indecisive when it comes to choosing glasses (ok, when it comes to a lot of things in my life) and I love the process of trying on multiple pairs of glasses before finally choosing one pair that was “just right.” Luckily, Discount Glasses has a few tools, including the face shape guide that helped me to find these adorable black plastic framed glasses, which were perfect for me! For each face shape, they have a group of pre-selected glasses that will compliment it, so all I had to do was go to the oval face shape section and browse the curated selection. Once I found the style I wanted, which took 90% of the time for this process (goes back to me being indecisive), the process was super simple. I gave them my eye doctor’s information, my personal information and chose between one of the two types of lenses and they took it from there. My Discount Glasses order arrived within 2 weeks and I couldn’t be happier with the frames and how they compliment both my face shape and my personality and they give me a small boost of sassiness and confidence when I put them on!
If you are in the market for a new pair of prescription glasses (or maybe you just want a pair of non-prescription or “fashion glasses”), I would highly recommend using Discount Glasses! They made the process of ordering my glasses so easy (they even got my prescription information from my eye doctor) and kept me informed through every step of the process. I know that
if when I need to update my prescription or I need to get a new pair of frames, I will be using Discount Glasses again because they offer such a wide selection for a reasonable price.
I hope y’all are having an amazing Cinco de Mayo (or as I like to refer to it as, Cinco de Drinko). It’s officially our last day in Mexico and I wish I could stay in paradise a few days longer to work on my tan and relax a bit more, but y’all this trip has been awesome! I have been trying to remember to take lots of photos and will be sharing them with you in a blog post over the next few weeks! I’ll be sure to have a margarita for all of you today!
