Get Glam and Get Going with Macy’s

Macys VIP Fashion Event

Hey y’all, so I had super FOMO seeing all of the New York Fashion Week photos (one day I will get there) last month, but Macy’s is coming to the rescue! Next Saturday, March 12th, Macy’s is hosting the Get Glam and Get Going event – a fabulous fashion presentation/shopping event at Memorial City Mall in Houston to showcase their favorite spring fashion trends!

A few fabulous blogger babes are hosting and styling, including Alice from The Lonestar Looking Glass, Emily G. of The Sweetest Thing and Destiny of Truly Destiny! I can’t wait to see their take on the spring trends and hear some of their tips for dressing chic in the spring – excuse me, I misspoke – the less hot summer we experience in Houston.

In addition to the all of the fabulous fashion advice, there will be some appetizers by Maple and Love and I am predicting a dance party since a DJ will be playing some top hits! I will definitely be requesting some Adele and Bieber’s new song (I never thought I would hear myself say that, but the tune is just too catchy)! If that wasn’t enough, there will also a mini calligraphy tutorial from Nib & Pixel and a chance to win a ticket to their beginner’s calligraphy class at Post Studio Houston.

I have always been a big fan of Macy’s because they have adorable clothing – plus it’s a brick and mortar store that I can shop in with my girlfriends (don’t get me wrong, I love my online shopping – but it is still fun to go to stores and get my friends’ opinions). Growing up, going to the mall was always a bit frustrating because a lot of the stores my friends wanted to shop in did not carry larger sizes, but Macy’s was different. Macy’s was always the store that would have a selection for both my straight size friends and my curvy self! 😀 When I heard that Macy’s was going to be hosting the Get Glam and Get Going event to share their take on the spring fashion trends, I knew I wanted to attend because it is a store that has provided me countless fashionable outfits and so many memories!

I can’t wait to add some of the spring trends to my closet! I’m currently loving the off the shoulder looks, deninm-on-denim and floral prints. But given what I see next weekend, I may be adding some other trends to the rotation! What spring trends are you currently loving?

I hope you join me next Saturday, March 12th at 2PM at the Memorial City Macy’s (Women’s Department, Level 2) to Get Glam and Get Going!  If you do join us for a fun and fashionable afternoon, please come over and say hi! I would love to meet y’all!!

And if you don’t live in the Houston-area, make sure to check out the entire schedule to find one of the events near you!

I am very excited Chrissa! I’m looking forward to seeing all of the spring trends! Me too, it’s similar to Target – I can walk in expecting to get one thing and end up with much more!
