I am so excited to be partnering with Gwynnie Bee, a plus size clothing subscription service, today to share my Style Adventures in Houston! When my friends at Gwynnie Bee reached out a few weeks ago with the opportunity to style this bohemian Melissa McCarthy Seven7 dress, I immediately wanted to challenge myself to style it.
Typically, I reach for dress and skirts bolder in color and my style has more of a preppy vibe, so I wanted to challenge myself to style this Gwynnie Bee bohemian dress while galavanting around downtown Houston last weekend. Let me first of start by saying that this dress is extremely comfortable and flattering. The light fabric was perfect for the 90+ degree weather we had on Saturday and the print was placed in such a way as to draw your eye to the center of the dress, giving it a slimming effect. Another slimming element of the dress is the empire waist which helps to keep the fabric lightly grazing the stomach area (perfect for those of us with a little extra bit of love in that area).
The ease of this Gwynnie Bee dress was perfect for exploring the new art exhibit at Discovery Green. It opened early last week and I was so excited to go over and see the colorful streamers. It is absolutely stunning to look at and I am amazed at how long it must have taken to complete it. There are 3 major overhead installments, like the ones in some of the pictures, and a smaller wall that is at eye level (some of the pics show me standing in front of it). I’m serious, it must have taken multiple people weeks to tie them up there. I was completely in awe. If you get a chance to check it out, I would highly recommend it. It’s one of my favorite installments they’ve done there.
