The past two weeks weather has been absolutely gorgeous in Texas and as I was packing last Sunday, I decided to throw a lot of bold colors in my suitcase. For work, I normally keep my wardrobe more traditional and wear a lot of neutral cardigans/jackets over a colorful top. My “uniform” usually consists of black pants or skirt, a colorful top and a black cardigan or blazer. On days I decide to wear a dress, it is usually a solid color or black. Over the past month, I have started to notice how much of a fashion rut I got into when it came to dressing for work; so, this past week I decided to go outside of my comfort zone and add a colorful jacket.

I will admit, I was a little anxious when I first walked into the office in this jacket – don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love it, but it was a bold statement for the office. I don’t think the color was too overbearing for my day, but I didn’t have any extremely important meetings. By the end of the day, I was loving the color and it put me in a great mood (which helped me to be more productive – double bonus!). What I learned the most from yesterday was that I should continue to push myself to go a little bit farther, both in fashion and in other tasks.

How have you gone out of your comfort zone?

I love the plaid jacket, I would be nervous too if I did, but glad it went okay at work with your jacket. If I was at your work I would probably be like YAY so pretty!!! Glad the weather is doing good their, here in Utah it’s a little weird it’s cold and then its warm then cold and warm.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I used to be a consultant and your wardrobe is so much more fun than mine was when I was living out of the suitcase! I love that you are taking more risks with the wardrobe, they generally pay off!

Thanks you Nicole! It is so hard to stay motivated to style my wardrobe when I have to choose my outfits a few days prior, but I have been really trying to make an effort recently!
