Happy New Year, y’all!! With all of the excitement the end of 2017 brought with two friends’ weddings, I decided to take a bit of time off from my little corner of the Internet to focus on being with my family and friends, to celebrate the beginning of the next chapters for my friends, and to take some time to relax, rejuvenate and plan for 2018. But, I am so excited to be back and have some fun things planned for this year. I hope y’all are having a fantastic start to 2018 – I can feel that it is going to be an amazing year for all of us!!
Since I had the opportunity to attend a few winter weddings this year, I wanted to share some of my tips on what to wear, especially on what accessories I love this season. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts (here and here), I have a couple of rules I like to follow when finding the perfect outfit to wear to such a monumental day.
This winter, I think I’ve added a new rule to my playbook – choose one statement accessory and keep everything else simple when attending a winter wedding. I’ve been obsessed with statement earrings for the past few seasons (I’m sure you’ve noticed), but that is also my go-to bold accessory this winter season. By keeping it simple with one accessory, I feel like I still look pulled together without being the center of attention (I mean, it’s not my day anyways).
For the wedding I attended two weekends ago, I wore this gorgeous dress from Alex Evenings. It’s a statement in itself, so I decided to keep the statement earrings on the simpler side of a statement earring with pearl hoops. To finish it off, I added a black fold over clutch and black leather strappy heels (which soon turned into a pair of black flats to dance the night away in – who else is on team flats when it comes time to bust a move?).
Since my earrings are currently sold out (booo….), I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite statement accessories I would love to wear to winter weddings. (I don’t love large sparkly jewelry – what are you talking about…haha)
What accessories will you be wearing to weddings this season?
